The Historic Town of Georgetown

Georgetown is the third oldest city in South Carolina.  Georgetown became an official port of entry in 1732 and flourished with indigo and rice crops.  Close to half of the rice consumed in the U.S. was grown around the Georgetown area.  The historic district was laid out in 1729 by the cities founder, Elisha Screven.  Come and visit our wonderful waterfront city and enjoy shopping, dining and touring this lovely lowcountry town.
